This article on AIGA’s website talks about how designers are having to work harder and faster to produce the same results as before the economy collapsed in 2008. It says that there are now fewer resources, limited time, smaller budgets, and higher costs for all the things designers need to produce a piece of work. It also talks about how there is much more competition today. Design companies have to go to extremes to get buissnes. Designers must lower their prices and meet crazy due dates. The article then talks about how designers should appreciate these restrictions. The due dates challenge their abilities and improve their speed. The competition make sure designers do their best work and help them work on their skills. The article concludes by saying designers must “make do” with what they are given under any circumstance.
