The objective of this assignment was to recreate a piece of surrealism art. I chose the following inspiration and recreated it above. After, I created a poster design for an Art Exhibition that incorporated my recreation of the surrealism art. My poster utilizes the Z pattern and was created using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.

Inspiration:

For this assignment, we were instructed to use one of our logos from the previous assignment and create a stationary package for the company. A stationary package includes a business card, letterhead, and envelope all with the company’s logo incorporated on it. I chose my Bloom’s Flower Shoppe logo to use. To complete this project I used Adobe Illustrator and then packaged it in Adobe InDesign.

The objective of this assignment was to create a lettermark and wordmark for a chosen company. A lettermark is a type of logo consisting wholly of abbreviation. A wordmark is a company’s name or brand into a stylized font that tries to convey the idea of what the company is about. The letter mark I created is for Metro Art Guild. The lettermark I created is for Blooms Flower Shoppe. For both designs we were only allowed to use one ore two Pantone colors. I created both these logos in Adobe Illustrator.

The objective of this assignment was to design two combination marks. First, we randomly chose a company name from a  bucket. We then created two different logo designs for the company. One logo had to have two colors while the other needed three. It was very important to research and determine our audience and the appropriate colors and style for the company or industry we chose. To complete this project I used Adobe Illustrator.

For this assignment, we were instructed to create a Combination Mark, which is a brand that includes both text and a symbol/icon that signifies the brand image, for either “Handy Man Construcion” or “Key Real Estate.” I chose “Key Real Estate” and created a combination mark, or logo for that company. The logo had to include a key so I incorporated that by replacing the notches of the actual key with the word “Key” in the companies name. We were only allowed to use two fonts and black and white only. I chose the font Brush Script MT Italic for the “Real Estate” part and Old Sans Black for the “Key” part. This project was completed all in Adobe Illustrator.

This is the logo with color. I chose red and black because red is a warm color  that stimulates a positive response and then black to offset the red. Red is exciting, intense, and full of emotion. Black is sophisticated, elegant, or mysterious. The colors two complement each other well.

The purpose of this Assignment was to illustrate the way the Gutenberg Press worked during it’s time. In theory we created a movable stamp/relief print. For this project, we were instructed to create a word that illustrates it’s meaning. I choose the word broken and illustrated it by breaking the o and e and also making the letters tilted. I created the word on Illustrator and then traced it onto a foam board. After, I cut the letters out of the foam board and glued them backwards onto a piece of construction paper. Finally, I pressed the letters in ink and stamped them onto another sheet of paper to create a stamp of my word.

For this assignment, we were instructed to create an illuminated manuscript of song lyrics or a short story. I chose the song “The Tide” -Spill Canvas. To create my project, I used brusheezy.com to find decorative borders. I used the brush tool in Photoshop to create and maniupulate the borders. Then, I used dafont.com to choose a font. I added the text in Indesign and also packaged my project there.

For this assignment, I was instructed to create the lowercase of the letters W and B in the Trojan font. To do so, I sketched the letters then scanned them onto my computer. After, I traced the letters and added a background in Photoshop. Finally, I packaged my project in Indesign.

The objective of this assignment was to create a visual image with no words of a nursery rhyme. The nursery rhyme I illustrated was:

Hey Diddle Diddle,

The cat played the fiddle,

The cow jumped over the moon,

The little dog laughed to see such sport,

And the dish ran away with the Spoon.

I first drew the silhouettes in Adobe Illustrator and then added layer blends and changed the opacity in Photoshop to make it look like it had been impressed or chiseled into stone. Finally I packaged it into InDesign.

The purpose of this assignment was to create a poster design for a subject and to communicate a message effectively to the intended audience. The subject I was given was Fair Use. Fair Use is the conditions under which you can use copyrighted material without paying royalties. My poster shows a comedian at his show talking about fair use. I chose this poster design because a comedy show is an example of a time where many comedians take advantage of fair use. To complete my project I used Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.  My poster also demonstrates optical center and the Z-pattern.
